The uncertainty surrounding the future of the Squash Club is distressing for our players, as Squash is a niche sport with limited alternative playing options in the area, unlike Tennis or Futsal which also operate at the WRC. It is imperative that the Council provides us with a timeframe and a detailed plan before proceeding with the demolition of the Squash courts. We believe that it is feasible to fence off the Squash courts until the last possible moment, allowing our players to continue using the facilities while the Golf Club is being constructed. This would minimize the downtime for our players and ensure a smooth transition to the new facilities. We would like to highlight the Council's track record of delayed project completions, as evidenced by the North Manly Bowling Club which has remained empty for years due to neglect, as well as the unfinished Manly Council chambers. We urge the Council to prioritize the timely completion of the new facilities for the North Manly Squash Club to avoid a similar fate. In conclusion, we request that the Council provides us with a clear plan and a definitive timeframe for the relocation of the Squash Club before proceeding with the demolition of the current facilities. We are eager to work collaboratively with the Council to ensure a smooth transition for our players and to secure the future of the North Manly Squash Club.
